Since our founding, Warrior Sports and Fun-X-tional Fitness has had the opportunity to help countless students and members acquire foundational skills, develop new techniques and confidently move forward in their learning journey. Known as the best Martial Arts School in the Centurion area, we provide a wide range of courses to support students from all backgrounds and levels.

OUR STORY

The Clarke family founded Warrior Sports Martial Arts and Fitness Academy in 2001 with one goal in mind: giving our students the best, most fun and rewarding learning experience in a Christian family friendly environment. Where Mom's, dads and kids can all come and train together or in their own classes at the same facility.

Brett Clarke bought over the Warrior Sports gym from his father Trevor Clarke in 2018 after running the gym for a number of years, and now owns and runs Warrior Sports and Fun-X-tional Fitness with Geraldine Clarke his wife and two daughters Kiara and Riley.


Warrior Sports and Fun-X-tional Fitness has grown from a small kickboxing club training out of Virgin Active and Wayne's gyms aerobics halls into one of South Africa's biggest and best Premium martial arts and fitness centers. Some gyms just aren’t quite like the other ones, and Warrior Sports and Fun-X-tional Fitness has the facilities and community to prove it. Our innovative space is at the forefront of exercise technology, methodology and management. We’ve got what you need for the perfect workout. See what our space and coaches have to offer you. The centurion main branch is a fantastic venue of some 1300sqm – a fully equipped martial arts facility offering a boxing ring, cage, suspended punch bags, rubber and tarpaulin covered floors, martial arts equipment shop, reception, coffee and smoothie bar and change rooms with showers.

To complete the experience for our members we have now joined forces with Fun-X-tional Fitness. The Eco-Park Gym unfortunately had to close down during lockdown but has now been moved into the Warrior Sports facility. So we now have a full Functional Fitness and CrossFit gym inside the Warrior Sports facility.

MUAYTHAI

Adults 14+ and kids 4 - 13 years old

Practicing Muaythai is a vigorous workout and produces tremendous cardiovascular endurance. It includes running, skipping, shadow-boxing, pad work and heavy bag work. Muaythai has proven to be an excellent fitness, toning and weight control method with the added benefit of learning a genuine Martial art which is almost unsurpassed. If you're tired of the gym scene or your same ol fitness routine, or just need to get back in shape, its time for you to discover the adrenaline rush of Muaythai. Muaythai is one of the hottest martial arts on the scene today. Warrior Sports we teach you traditional, authentic, time-honored Muaythai techniques in a safe, fun, and ego-free environment.

What do you get?

  • Classes are an hour long. 20 - 30 min warmups and then techniques, bagwork, padwork, partner drills and techniques.

  • Free bonus Saturday morning open class.

  • Adults and kids classes available. 

  • Internationally recognized gradings and syllabus.

  • Internationally qualified Muaythai Kru's through the IOC body IFMA and the South African Muaythai Federation.

  • Our Adult Muaythai class(14+) times are Tuesday and Thursdays at 18:30 and Saturday morning bonus open class is at 07:30.

  • The Kids classes(4 - 13 years old) are on a Tuesday and Thursday at 16:30 with a bonus Saturday morning class at 7:30.

BRAZILIAN JIUJITSU

Adults class 13+ years old and Kids class 4 - 12 years old

BJJ (Brazilian JiuJitsu) is believed to have originated in Brazil and is considered to be one of the best forms of martial arts in the world. It is often said that if you are physically small or bodily petite, but have mastered BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, then you can fight a person double your size. BJJ is based on the technique that immobilizes the opponent. It teaches joint locks, chokeholds, and the art to beat an opponent having more physical prowess. BJJ is considered to have the best self-defence techniques in the world.

We have separated the kids into a class of their own at the same time as the adults class.

What do you get?

  • Classes are an hour long. Warmups,  techniques, partner drills and free rolling.

  • Gradings and syllabus with Rio Grappling.

  • Black belt BJJ instructors.

  • BJJ is on a Tuesday and Thursday at 17:30 and open mats on a Saturday morning.

BOXING

Ages 9years + and Adults

Boxing and Boxfit classes are excellent for getting fit and toned.

The boxing class is more technique orientated with partner drills and sparring. We cater for the boxfit members in the boxing class as well, when the boxing class does sparring they will be split up from the general class.

Where as the boxfit class is geared more to fitness conditioning.

Boxing will increase muscular strength and cardio endurance—the perfect class to get shredded! Boxing Conditioning will include cardio calisthenics, shadow boxing, bag work  and core strengthening exercises. You will sweat like crazy, build a rock solid core and burn hundreds of calories.

KRAV-MAGA (SELF DEFENCE)

Israeli Self Defence system

Krav-Maga is the official self-defence and combat system used by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), Israeli Police and Security Services and many law enforcement agencies around the world.

Krav-Maga is also taught in institutions governed by the Israeli Ministry of Education and has been taught to civilians all over the word as well. Developed and refined during years of conflict, Krav-Maga emphasizes easy-to-learn techniques that have been battle-tested in real life, threatening situations. These training methods have been used by Israel's most elite combat units and proven effective time and time again.

Krav-Maga provides simple solutions to fighting more than one assailant, armed or unarmed, in today’s reality.

  • Adult classes for 14+ years old and kids classes for 4 - 13 years old. 

  • Our adult Krav-Maga times are Mondays and Wednesdays at 18:30 or Tuesday and Thursdays at 07:30 and Saturday morning bonus open class is at 07:30.

  • Our kids Krav classes are on a Monday and Wednesday at 16:30 with a bonus Saturday morning class at 7:30.

KICKBOXING

Kickboxing! The word itself speaks volumes about this fresh style of martial arts, which is no-nonsense and sleek style of decimating your enemy. It is a martial art which blends the grace of boxing with the powerful maneuvers of kicking styles. So boxing tips and techniques can come in handy here. A kick boxing workout routine is a great way of staying in shape and toughening up for life. Kickboxing is not just for martial arts experts. Any person can benefit from going for a kickboxing workout routine even if they do not intend to compete in actual kickboxing tournaments.

Kick boxing training strengthens the arms and legs, sculpting them to perfection. It is now widely popular as a strength workout routine among fitness enthusiasts. A kickboxing workout routine, based on intense aerobic moves can burn as much as 800 - 1000 Calories.

FUNCTIONAL FITNESS

Live fit. Live Strong.

Wake up early and join us for this class, our unique fusion of fitness and fun that’ll have your heart pumping in no time.

Functional fitness exercises train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work or in sports. While using various muscles in the upper and lower body at the same time, functional fitness exercises also emphasize core stability.
In the classes we do strength training using bodyweight exercises, dumbbells, barbells and kettlebells. We do exercises like squats, deadlifts, swings, power cleans, front squats and overhead squats, to name a few. We then mix it in with some cardio training on the air runners, air bikes, ski ergs and rowers to give you a fun, full body high intensity workout that works your whole

body every session.

FLEX (CROSSFIT)

Surpass Your Goals

This class is sure to become your next obsession. It’s based around the belief that mental and physical health are interrelated, and should be conditioned together. By combining fun and enjoyment with physical activity, we’re here to prove that we can maximize your potential with emotional and physiological fitness.

Our Flex classes are based on CrossFit which is a form of high intensity interval training, CrossFit is a strength and conditioning workout that is made up of functional movement performed at a high intensity level. There is a standard "workout of the day" (WOD) that all members complete on the same day.

The CrossFit classes have a bit more range in exercises performed than the general functional fitness class, like muscle ups, hand stand pushups and higher level barbell work.
But it is a fun, hard workout if you enjoy a bit more of a challenge.

Join us for this challenge and train your way to a healthy body and mind. 

With the full 8 week challenge package, we do a full consultation, functional movement screening and body assessment with you. You also get the Inbody scale check-ups every 2 weeks along the way and accountability tracking every week to make sure you are making progress. Plus you get a unlimited training package so you can attend any of our available classes for the duration of the 8 weeks. We have Functional fitness, CrossFit as well as various boxing, Kickboxing or Muaythai classes you can attend. You need to attend at least 3 sessions per week, but you can chose whichever classes you want to attend.
